However, that day, that rainy June morning, in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, Louis Parent put on the watts and turned on the light to take the throne. On this day, the young prince was crowned King: French and “Navarre” Champion “Juniors” in mountain running. The culmination of a promising season for him who, at 19, did not wait for the brilliance of this title to become the Sun King of the Team. King Sun, Louis was already so troubled by the team shines in the collective with his boundless energy, his contagious good nature and his already reasoned passion for the mountains.
Meet what Haute-Savoie, the real one, the one with the scents of gentian and “Reblochon”, has the most fiery and talented on its trails. The one we wouldn’t trade for anything in the world, not even for a Golden Louis. Yep,

I remember a lot of positive from this year. Whether through results, experiences, meetings and all the beautiful moments of sharing spent in the mountains. It’s a bit like the “first” season for me with my discovery of the “Juniors” category, my entry into a Team really structured around performance and finally, my national title.
To my surprise, I was able to do well in some races and I am super happy.

What makes this moment so beautiful, so unforgettable, is the fact that it is highly unlikely.
I really didn’t expect this win. The scenario is rather favorable for me since I find myself in the lead, in a group of 3, well accompanied by my Team friend, Paccard Simon, at the dawn of attacking the last kilometer. Frankly, it’s progressing! We have to reach the pace of Jim Walmsley’s recovery jogging, 19 km / h. In the final sprint, I put myself in Simon’s wheel, I am at the breaker, 9000 rpm… I have my eyes fixed on me. Nothing matters anymore. Once the line is crossed, I realize that I have won … A mixture of intense joy and misunderstanding.
This Team is exactly what I needed … Support, advice, a collective, a medical staff, all the elements to perform, but without any pressure for results and with maximum freedom.
As if we had time to build our approach according to our specificities, not according to a predefined model and copied and pasted on each athlete. Then, in the Team, the atmosphere is also pretty great because we find ourselves around a passion for nature and the rise of lactates. It seems that in life you have two families: the one you are given and the one you choose.
Today, with my Team, I have both!
I would like 2020 to be a continuation of 2019.
Both in terms of progression and sports goals. I will do everything to try to win a new selection in the French team and arrive the knife (the opinel?) Between the teeth on the big international races open to Juniors, like the Short-Race (young race of the Maxi Race France), Sierre-Zinal or the YCC (young race of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc – UTMB)…
It’s sure that the surprise will not be the same as in 2019… I arrived on the races being unknown to the battalion. No one was suspicious of me. There, I will have to manage this new status, the pressure, which this one, for once, is not easy to come down (smile). My plan is to take all the races as they come, without planning too much on a specific objective, and give the maximum.
Run without having any regrets and do the accounts, after!
Organisée en Haute Savoie, au départ de la station de Saint-Gervais, la compétition a rassemblé près de 600 participants, soit presque 150 personnes de plus que l’an dernier.
