Team MATRYX⎪Trail Running has made the Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc – UTMB a great opportunity to gain experience on an international event and to compete with some of the best internationals, and the least we can to say is that we have not been disappointed.
Let’s start with the OCC and its 55Km / 3500m D + where Baptiste Chassagne and the coach Simon Gosselin had at heart to realize their race without worrying about the international plateau present at the start.
As a good manager and at the end of a race led by a master hand, Baptiste Chassagne went to collect a magnificent 6th place with the key to a canon clock of 5:32, ten minutes behind the winner Stian Angermund- Vik. A new reference race that confirms its rise in power at the end of summer!
Always on the lookout for a good performance, Simon Gosselin finished 16min behind at a very nice 12th place.
5 of our young athletes were also present on the YCC reserved for the categories Minime – Cadet – Junior – “Hope” and composed of a prologue of 2800m in the streets of Chamonix then the day after a 15km / 1000m D +.
In a context noted with some of the best European hopes,
Anthony Felber will be awarded 🥉 scratch and 🥈Hope behind two excellent Spanish athletes,
Paccard Simon will finish 5th scratch and 🥉Junior 6 small seconds behind the 2019 European Mountain Running Champion Joseph Dugdale,
Adrien Grataloup, after having won the prologue the day before, is looking for a promising 6th place scratch and 🥉Hope,
Louis Parent will offer himself a beautiful 9th place and 5th junior in contact with the best European juniors.
And finally, Lucille Germain, in the momentum of his extraordinary season, took the opportunity to win the prologue and the 15km scratch🥇, relegating his first pursuer to more than 9min.
Encouraging results and a superb collective week to end a beautiful summer.
